Elul Day 28 - Forgetting the Past

How many people are held back by past mistakes or failures? No doubt we all have them — and if we dwell on them, these memories can cripple and hold us back.

How gracious and amazing is the Lord our God, who not only forgives and forgets our past, but actually makes us new creations. He wipes the slate clean and says:

'Now look in the mirror at yourself, and see the brand new creation I have made you.'

We are free now:

  • To do His will
  • To walk in His ways
  • To live in our purpose
  • To forgive what others have done to us
  • To ____________ (fill in the blank — the possibilities are endless)

Look at the example of Charlie Kirk. At 18, he started with nothing but a dream in his parents' garage. Through daily work, education, and relentless effort, he built relationships, studied, and eventually impacted millions — even influencing the 2024 presidential election while spreading the gospel.

Charlie had failures, but he never let them define him. He kept moving forward.

Philippians 3:13
'Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.'

Charlie, we know you are with the Lord now. Thank you for your example and perseverance. We will carry on what you gave your life for — and give the Lord all the glory!
